Maelstrom Rainwater Filter from Rain Harvesting
The Maelstrom is the latest breakthrough in rainwater harvesting technology, designed for high catchment efficiency, high flow rate management, and super-fine filtration — 5x finer than a traditional tank screen. Easy to install in new and existing systems; compatible with tank-top, in-tank, in-ground, and wall-mounted configurations.
Key Benefits
- Single-point, tank-top filter with a groundbreaking U-shaped design.
- Dual-barrier filtration (2mm and 180 micron) captures particles 5x smaller than a standard tank screen.
- Self-flushing design reduces leaf and debris build-up and cleaning frequency.
- Blocks out light, replacing both tank screen and solar shield.
- Versatile — installs in a variety of pre-tank locations.
- Lowers sediment build-up in the tank, reducing the frequency and cost of tank cleaning.
How It Works
- Rainwater enters the Maelstrom through either of the horizontal-facing inlet couplings.
- Water passes into the Primary Filter (J), where the unique curved design slows velocity by redirecting flow.
- A Secondary Filter (C) — a removable nylon mesh bag — surrounds the Primary Filter and captures fine particulates larger than 180 microns. This assembly requires periodic cleaning.
- Filtered water exits through the Filtered Water Outlet (F) and flows into the rainwater tank or connected pipe.
