These chlorine pellets from Better Water Industries are used to kill bacteria in groundwater and stored rainwater. Suitable for wells, cisterns, agricultural applications, and other settings where untreated water needs to be purified. Each pellet weighs 1 gram (3/8" diameter). Recommended for hydrogen sulfide removal, odor removal, and water sterilization.

Dosage for Rain System Maintenance

• Routine maintenance: Add 14 pellets (1/2 oz) per 1,000 gallons every 3 months — this delivers approximately 2.5 ppm
• Annual shock chlorination: Add 2–5× the routine dose for a full tank or cistern shock treatment

Chlorine pellets are a preventative maintenance tool for a healthy cistern system. They should not replace indoor bacteria control such as a UV sterilizer, but rather complement it as part of your regular maintenance routine.
