BENEFITS OF HDPE CISTERNS : Durability and longevity. These tanks can last forever and can be easily repaired if they leak. Since it is high-density polyethylene, the plastic itself is very stable. Also, tanks can be installed using smaller equipment, so there is much more flexibility in location of installation. The Bruiser line of tanks -- unlike the standard HDPE cisterns -- can be backfilled using native soil instead of sand/gravel.

DISADVANTAGES OF HDPE CISTERNS : Because the tanks themselves are relatively light-weight, precautions must be taken during installation to prevent damage to tanks and tank floating (i.e., tanks popping out of the ground). We are proud to say that we have never had a HDPE cistern that we’ve installed float!
