Since all harvested rainwater is filtered before entering the tank, the floating filter should never clog but will instead take water from just below the surface. Water at this depth is of the highest quality in the tank, because any particulate that enters the tank either floats on the surface or settles to the bottom. The floating filter acts more as an uptake point for the pump than a filter; thus, the floating filter should never require maintenance.
Consists of a polyethylene ball and stainless steel filter.
Use this product in conjunction with our TigerFlex pipe to build out your own floating intake sleeve for your pump. Here are some examples of how to build out a floating intake sleeve (please note that this product only includes the floating intake as pictured above -- does not include PVC fittings to build out a sleeve):
(Pay no attention to the 4" PVC pipe laying over the Tigerflex pipe in the above photo -- haha! Hey, we're not photographers, we're cistern experts!)
Filter mesh size: 1.2mm (1,200 microns)
